MOVING STORIES SMRT
1. How is SMRT meeting its challenges? We have come together to work collectively and collaboratively on five strategic thrusts: improving operational performance, enhancing customer experience, strengthening workforce health, pursuing organisational excellence and ensuring sustainable growth. Tremendous progress has been made on all these fronts. Despite an ageing system, we have worked hard to bring train withdrawal rates down to figures equivalent to 2007 levels. Our sleepers, signalling and third rail systems are being renewed so that commuters can enjoy a safer, smoother and faster ride. Our bus operations have also improved in service quality and reliability. Taxi availability rates have been kept high. We are growing all our business lines, and exploring new ones that can add value to the company. All our endeavors are guided by our vision of Moving People, Enhancing Lives, made possible by our people who share the same mission and core values.
